In 1991 the X180R, ( the street version of the Type 105 race---
car ), was produced.------------------------------------------------------------
The power of the Esprit Turbo was raised to 315 bhp with the
use of a Lotus developed Chargecooler and and enhanced--
      Engine Management System that uses six fuel injectors.------------
      Outwardly the Esprit X180R sports a deeper front air dam---------
and a rear wing.-------------------------------------------------------------------
      0-60 times have fallen into the mid 4second range and top-------
speed is in excess of 165 mph.--------------------------------------------
Doc Bundy, driving the Lotus Sport X180R, takes the Driver's title
in USA national sports car series (Bridgestone Potenza Supercar).
